Exam rules
Special Pharmacology for medical students lasts one semester.
Students who passed General pharmacology can take exam in Special pharmacology.
1. EXAM RULES
The exam consists of test and oral exam.
Students can take test in two ways:
– by taking colloquiums or
– by taking entire test at once.
Students who opt to take exam through colloquiums:
– Course material Special pharmacology is divided into two colloquiums.
– Colloquiums are given in writing in the form of a test.
– The first and second colloquiums have 30 questions.
– Colloquiums are taken during the semester, and at least 7 days after the course material is taken.
– The first colloquium covers the following areas: antimicrobials and cytostatics.
– If the student is dissatisfied with the grade obtained at the first colloquium, he cannot cancel the grade, but can take the exam as a whole, thus canceling the grade from the first colloquium.
– By passing the first colloquium, the student acquires the right to take the second colloquium.
– The second colloquium covers the areas of endocrinology and the CNS.
– If the student does not pass the second colloquium, regardless of having passed the first colloquium, the exam is taken as a whole.
– After passing 2 colloquiums the student takes the final (oral) part of the exam.
– After passing the final (oral) part of the exam, the student has the right to form and enter the final grade in the index in the Special Pharmacology course.
-If the student does not pass the oral exam one year after passing the second colloquium, he / she must retake the exam as a whole.
– The formation of the final grade is influenced by the grade obtained at the final (oral) part of the exam and the grade formed on the basis of the achieved results during the semester or on the basis of the accumulated points during the semester. The grade obtained at the final (oral) part of the exam is included in the final grade with 40%, while the grade formed on the basis of the achieved results during the semester, is on the basis of collected points, is included in the final grade with 60%.
A student who chooses to take the exam as a whole has the following conditions:
– The exam as a whole is taken in writing in the form of a test.
– The exam as a whole has 60 questions.
– The examination as a whole is taken within the examination period.
– The exam as a whole covers the fields: antimicrobials, cytostatics, endocrinology and CNS.
– The examination as a whole is taken within the examination period and must be reported through the portal.
– After passing the exam as a whole, the student takes the final (oral) part of the exam.
– After passing the final (oral) part of the exam, the student has the right to form and enter the final grade in the index in the Special Pharmacology course.
– If the student does not acquire the condition for enrollment in the final grade one year after passing the exam (passing the final (oral) part of the exam), he / she must retake the exam as a whole.

– Each of the colloquiums can be taken in written form.
– Both first and second colloquium consists of 30 questions.
– Each colloquium can be taken only during semester, and at least 7 days after final lecture covered by colloquium.
– If student does not to pass first colloquium in the first term, it is possible to take same colloquium in the second term.
– Only students who took colloquium in first term and did not pass have the right to take the first colloquium in the second term.
– If the student is not satisfied with test result, it is possible to take entire exam at once and in that way to void previous result.
– Student must pass first colloquium, in order to proceed to second colloquium.
– Topics for the second colloquium include: cardiovascular system, blood, respiratory and digestive system
– If a student does not pass the second colloquium (despite the result of first colloquium), student is obliged to take entire exam at once.
– Following parameters are taken into account for calculation of final score: activity during practical lectures, scores of two colloquiums (or test as a whole) and theoretical lecture attendance.
Students who opt to take entire exam at once:
– Entire exam at once is taken through written test.
– Test contains 60 questions.
– Entire exam at once can be taken only during exam term.
– If student has successfully passed it is possible to calculate for student to take the oral exam in Special Pharmacology and final grade can be entered (written) in “Index” after passing the oral exam.
– Following parameters are taken into account for calculation of final score: activity test score, theoretical lecture attendance.
2. SCORING SYSTEM
Students’ knowledge and activities are recorded throughout entire semester, and final score is calculated on the basis of the results achieved during semester.
From the school year 2023/2024. final score is calculated as follows:
– First colloquium – 30 questions worth 45 points
– Second colloquium – 30 questions worth 45 points
– Activities during practical lectures – 5 points
– Theoretical lectures attendance – 5 points
– Total – 100 points
or
– Entire exam (test) – 60 questions worth 90 points
– Activities during practical lectures – 5 points
– Theoretical lectures attendance – 5 points
– Total – 100 points
Final score (mark):
6 – from 51 to 60,99 points.
7 – from 61 to 70,99 points.
8 – from 71 to 80,99 points.
9 – from 81 to 90,99 points.
10 – from 91 to 100 points.
– Maximal score at first colloquium is 45 points (each of the 30 questions is worth 1.5 points). Student has successfully passed colloquium with score 23 and above. One correct answer at colloquium equals 1.5 point.
– Maximal score at second colloquium is 45 points (each of the 30 questions is worth 1.5 points). Student has successfully passed colloquium with score 23 and above. One correct answer at colloquium equals 1.5 point.
– Maximal score at entire exam (test) is 90 points (each of the 60 questions is worth 1.5 points). Student has successfully passed test with score 41 and above. One correct answer at test equals 1.5 point.
– Maximal score regarding activities during practical lectures is 5 points. Student who actively participates in one practical lecture is given 1,67.
– Maximal score for theoretical lectures attendance is 5 points. Student who did not miss any lecture is given 5 points. Attendance to one lecture equals 0,112 points (5 points/45 lectures).
– Practical lectures attendance is not a part of final score. It is obligatory for signing the index (the acknowledgement of the semester) in Special Pharmacology. Student is allowed to miss maximum of 20% of practical lectures.
– After forming the grade according to the points on the test, activities during the practical lessons and the theoretical lesson attendance, student takes the oral exam in Special pharmacology.
– Oral exam consists of 3 questions, and after successfully passing the oral exam, student can have their final grade written in the index.
3. SIGNING FOR THE EXAM
Signing in for the entire exam at once, first colloquium, second colloquium can be done only electronically via link posted on the main page of the site.
-Signing in for the entire exam at once, first colloquium, second colloquium can be done only during the predetermined period which can always be timely found at notice board or web page of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacology. Signing in out of the predetermined period will not be taken into account.
-If student does not have access to internet, there are two personal computers with internet in front of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacology.
– Students must apply for the exam through students office and bring application form on oral exam.
